The chart below, issued by the National Institutes of Health, shows that Rett Syndrome research is vastly under-funded.

The chart indicates that funding for Rett Syndrome is stagnant at $6 million a year. Current funding levels will not sustain a drug development program.
Without significant support from the private sector, treatments and a cure for Rett Syndrome will remain elusive.
